Webinar Helps ISAGCA Community Navigate CRA and RED Requirements

As part of the mission of the ISA Global Cybersecurity Alliance (ISAGCA) to increase global cybersecurity awareness, our members are incredible advocates in helping to drive the ISA/IEC 62443 mission. Our members bring clarity to complex regulatory and standards-related topics. On 30 October 2025, FM Approvals joined ISAGCA to deliver an informative webinar on "CRA and RED Explained: Compliance, Timelines and Impact."

The session, led by Nejra Lalić, business development engineer for cybersecurity and IIoT certification services at FM Approvals, drew strong engagement from asset owners, suppliers and integrators across multiple regions. CRA and RED are top of mind for many organizations, and Nejra helped attendees understand how these requirements intersect with secure product development, device deployment and ongoing lifecycle management.

A Webinar That Sparked More Questions Than Time Allowed

The volume and depth of audience questions made it clear that organizations are actively preparing — or trying to prepare — for CRA and RED. Topics ranged from product design impacts and documentation expectations to market surveillance, enforcement timelines and how ISA/IEC 62443 maps to regulatory obligations.

Nejra as well as Khalid Ansari and Witali Engelhard (also from FM Approvals) tried to get through as many questions before the end of the webinar. Because the Q&A was so active, all questions were not answered.

To support the ISAGCA community, FM Approvals generously compiled all the unanswered questions with detailed responses from their cybersecurity and IIoT certification experts in this linked follow-up.

Why ISAGCA Appreciates This Collaboration

FM Approvals is not only an ISASecure® Certification Body and an ISAGCA member but also is a strong advocate for standards-based cybersecurity grounded in scientific research and independent assessment. Their ability to interpret regulatory change through the lens of ISA/IEC 62443 provides practical value to our members — manufacturers, integrators, asset owners and policymakers alike.

Their willingness to continue the conversation after the webinar, answer every submitted question and offer clarity on emerging expectations is exactly the type of community-driven engagement ISAGCA aims to foster.
